While not the
rumored sequel to this year’s
Relapse,
Eminem has announced plans for one more new release before the year is out. On December 21st, the rapper will unveil
Relapse: The Refill, a deluxe compilation featuring the aforementioned
Relapse plus seven bonus tracks that didn’t make the album. Among those included will be the
Drake, Kanye, & Weezy-featuring single “Forever” and
“Taking My Ball”, which was originally released on the
DJ Hero video game. Basically, as
Rolling Stone points out, it is Marshall Mathers’ version of
The Fame Monster.
Consequently, Eminem has decided to push back the release of Relapse‘s sequel, the aptly titled Relapse 2, to 2010. “I want to deliver more material for the fans this year like I originally planned,” Eminem said in a statement to Rap-Rader announcing The Refill. “Hopefully these tracks on The Refill will tide the fans over until we put out Relapse 2 next year.” See ya next year.
