So yesterday, we, as in I, penned an open letter to Steven Tyler, as in a sarcastic posting concerning the Aerosmith‘s on-again, off-again membership in the band. But just when you thought all the drama was finally coming to an end, there is this little comment from Tyler’s bandmate, guitarist Joe Perry, in an exclusive interview with Rolling Stone:

“[Tyler] wants to take two years off from the band… The rest of the band wants to keep on working. We have so many different options to fill up that time. Anything is possible at this point. Basically, any communication that we’ve had over the last couple of months has been through managers, so that’s been pretty strange.”

Perry went on to add that Aerosmith, sans Tyler, is still considering touring and recording. As a result, they are looking for a new singer. Hopefully the search works out better than it did for Velvet Revolver.
