If Neil Young, the master guitarist/singer/songwriter/awesomeness himself said off of his 1979 masterpiece Rust Never Sleeps, “It’s better to burn out than to fade away,” he seriously was right. Fortunately as a result of said classic record, Young’s career did a complete turnaround and wound up cementing his place in rock & roll history forever. Flash forward to thirty odd years later and with that all being said, according to our little buddies over at Pitchfork, the Manitoba native will reissue his first four albums (via Reprise Records) on both CD & vinyl formats on November 23rd:

Young released his self-titled debut, Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere, After the Gold Rush, and Harvest during one absurdly fruitful three-year period between 1969 and 1972. All four have been remastered from their original tapes.

In essence, classics like “The Loner”, “Southern Man”, “After The Gold Rush”, “Heart Of Gold”, and “Cinnamon Girl” will receive mega upgrades and sound much more incredible than they ever have. This also doesn’t hurt that it follows Young’s first volume of his long-awaited Archives series.

So, well, yeah, this fall just got a whole lot better and you can expect this music lover to raid the local record store for these releases. Nothing sounds better than Young’s screeching electric and with these reissues, it’ll be twice as awesome.
