In a 2007 interview with Hate Something Beautiful, Nick Zammuto, one half of New York City folktronica duo The Books, stated that when it comes to touring, he “lives through it.” So on that note, get psyched! The Books are going on tour and they’re armed with new songs!

The duo, whose cut-and-paste ethos throws them into territory well known by groups like Negativland and musique concrète composers like Edgard Varèse, has released three wonderfully received albums and toured the world. They’re just coming off a hiatus that saw the birth of children, the creation of a home studio, and, of course, the expansion of the group’s already massive found sound archive.

The shows will build momentum for a planned 2010 release of what promises to be their most ambitious album yet.
