Today, Billboard confirmed music’s worst kept secret: Arcade Fire will return this spring with a new album and tour dates to boot. According to “sources,” the followup to 2007’s Neon Bible is being produced by Markus Dravs (Coldplay, Bjork) and will be preceded by a single release earlier in 2010. The band is also said to be “weighing multiple offers for live shows in the spring, and will likely take a top slot at one or more of the major North American summer festivals.” So, get ready.
TAGGED AS: Arcade Fire
You all can say what you want but the Spring Fest they will be headlining at with be Sasquatch
They’ve been there twice as subheadliners. They will jump to Headliner this year.
Lolla 2010 please!
This news coupled with the fact that probably 90% of the people who did the “request” thing at lollapalooza.com put down Arcade Fire means they will likely be in Grant Park the first weekend of August 2010. Which is totally fucken sweet.
If you have seen them before you know they could headline……I saw them at Coachella while the sun was setting a couple years ago and it was one of the best moments of my life……..right there with Bon Iver at sunrise in a cemetery and Andrew Bird at the Largo……you WILL be amazed
I agree with Alex. They could easily headline Lolla, ACL, Coachella, etc. They just aren’t quite big enough to be headlining the What stage at Bonnaroo. But i could definitely see them in a David Byrne type slot on the Which stage.
Either way im incredibly psyched to possibly see them. Number one on my list on bands i haven’t seen yet.
They headlined Saturday night at ACL 2007 against Muse and got a huge crowd. (I believe Muse was bumped up to headliner after the White Stripes canceled.) So they can definitely play a headlining slot–though I don’t see them doing a closing night slot.
better play Florida for their first time in their careers….
Arcade Fire, Strokes, Pavement!?!
This is going to be the best summer ever!
when they played in chicago last, they played three nights at the chicago theater. all three shows sold out in a couple hours. so i had to rely on my dad for tickets. he works for a radio station and knows people at every station, every venue, and all the promoing agencies. he couldn’t get tickets because of the ridiculous demand until the day of the show when a couple tickets miraculously came to him.
i’d say they could draw a fair sized crowd, just saying
ARCADE FIRE WILL BE AT COACHELLA 2010
Thats what I thought. They NEED to play a latenight set on the Which stage.
You are kidding right? If Jack Johnson or the Killers can headline then the Arcade Fire could headline every night of all festivals……
Why don’t you see them playing Bonnaroo? Or do you mean you don’t think they would headline?
Thank God. Question is, are they strong enough to headline a Lolla, Coachella, ACL, etc?
OMGZ TOTALY CINFURMED FOR COACHELLAZ LULZ
Fuck yeah!
OMG OMG OMG!
YES YES YES !!!!!
