On February 16th, the band formerly known as Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra and Tra-La-La Band will return with its sixth full-length effort, the seven track Kollaps Tradixionales.
This time around, Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra (they dropped the Tra-La-La Band part after shedding three members, Eric Craven, Rebecca Foon, and Ian Ilavsky, and recruiting a new drummer, David Payant, in the summer of 2008) will attempt to demonstrate that, despite the new lineup, “the band has lost none of its raw and frazzled anthemic power and continues to forge bold new ground in its search for a unique hybrid of punk, blues, psych, folk and modern orchestral idioms.” Or so says the issued press release.
In doing so, the band has put together Kollaps Tradixionales, which is available on standard CD (in a custom gatefold paperboard jacket), limited-edition deluxe CD (which is packaged together with a 6″x9″ 16-page perfect-bound art book and poster), double 10″ vinyl (deluxe first pressing featuring the art book, a CD copy, and two different posters inside), and digitally beginning February 16th via Constellation Records.
Check out a new song, titled “Kollaps Tradicional (Bury 3 Dynamos)”, here.
