Update: Check Out: Thom Yorke live on “The Stupid Show”

Back in September, Radiohead’s Thom Yorke took to New York where he helped kick off the premier of the environmental friendly film The Age of Stupid with a solo performance of “Reckoner”. Evidence here.

Anyhow, Mr. Yorke is still going green, as evident by his appearance on the web TV series “The Stupid Show” earlier today. The show is a one week only type of deal dedicated to covering this week’s UN Climate Summit in Copenhagen. In addition to Yorke, this week’s guests have included Mohammed Nasheed (President of the Maldives), Achim Steiner (United Nations Under-Secretary General), and Kumi Naidoo (the UN, Secretary General to the Eminent Persons Group). Talk about elite company!

We’ll post the podcast/video as soon as it is up. Update: Check out the first video below.

We’d also like to share some of our favorite Yorke quotes from the appearance thus far:

“For 30-40 years we’ve all been bombarded by climate deniers.”

“[Copenhagen] sounds like a G8 summit, everyone leaves with a bit of paper thinking.”

And our favorite:

“Ignore the BBC, they are a bunch of fucking monkeys, bringing on deniers in the name of balance.”

Priceless.

Another Yorke interview from Copenhagen, in which he explains his last minute decision to come to Copenhagen and why he is pissed off at America:

  • The person above basically said it all.
The governments should be ashamed as well for not recognizing that it’s not just going to affect separate and sovereign states but the entirety of mankind. I understand that it’s difficult to come to an agreement…but if one if made it must be strong enough to acknowledge this.

  • It isn’t just the BBC though. Every major US media network decides that to be “fair”, they should employ “tit for tat” journalism and present “both sides of the story” even if those two sides are completely unequal. We should be ashamed of the media here for doing this.
