Jay-Z, 50 Cent, and Nas to work on remix together?!

If rock and roll supergroups are all the rage, surely they must have inspired musicians in other genres to combine forces. Well, despite the following bit of news being nothing more than gossip at the moment, we’re happy to report (via HipHopDX.com and BET.com) that such synergy could be happening in the rap world in the form of a Jay-Z, Nas, and 50 Cent collabo.

The story goes that an eavesdropping source at a New York Giant’s office overheard that Hov, Nas, and Fiddy will be working on a remix to the ode to New York “Empire State of Mind”. The news of this potential happening is not only ungodly good as far as generating what should be a banger, but also for rap relations, particularly on the part of Mr. Cent. The G-Unit head has a prolific history with both MCs, not to mention both Jay-Z and Nas having history. Jay and Nas both released the fire-starting diss tracks “Takeover” and “Ether,” respectively, and the Queens MC even called Nas out on The Massacre track “Piggy Bank”. While no claims have been made publicly, this track is seemingly 50 Cent’s way of playing nice. Well, maybe not completely nice.

We’ll have more on this when it’s less gossip and more substantiated rap history. If that ever happens of course.
