Given the last year, the following news it no real surprise. Still, we should still note that Kings of Leon, aka the band that headlined Sasquatch! and Lollapalooza, got covered by Nickelback, hit platinum, released a live DVD, and received a Grammy nomination all in a nine month span, has announced plans for a six month break (via NME).

But don’t fret too much. Despite the break, drummer Matt Followill revealed that the band had already begun writing material for their fifth album, the followup to 2008′s Only By The Night.

“We have ten songs already.” he explained. “Two weeks ago we had a set-up in a dressing room in Vancouver and re-ran through them.”
