With The Dead reunion temporarily on hold (for now), members Phil Lesh and Bob Weir have mapped out an extensive U.S. tour for their new jam-rock outfit, Furthur. Joined alongside by fellow Deadhead Jeff Chimenti, Dark Star Orchestra’s John Kadlecik, RatDog’s Jay Lane and Benevento/Russo’s Joe Russo (yep, it’s another one of those jamming supergroups), the band will hit begin its travels later this week in New York before wrapping things up with New Years performances in San Francisco. Then, following a short break, they’ll hit the road for a more extensive month long endeavor.

As it stands now, the last Furthur tour date is scheduled for March 8th in Portland, leaving plenty of time for more of that aforementioned Dead reunion. But that’s just speculation of course.
