If you haven’t heard, Rivers Cuomo hasn’t had the greatest month. Although things started great, the recent Weezer tour ended pretty bad, as in car crashes, ribs broken, and hospital time bad. So, it’s fair that the guy’s asking for support. For the past year, Cuomo’s been pretty gung-ho about collaborations — you recall his Hootenany days, right? This time, however, he wants to collaborate on one song.

Recently, the frontman posted on his Indaba Music profile, “I wrote this tune with Shusui. Now I want to write the lyrics. Before I do that, I’d like somebody to produce a better demo of the music. I’ll pay you $208.” That sounds like fair game. Not only do you have an opportunity to collaborate with Cuomo, but you might get paid, as well. That’s a better deal than most people’s day jobs offer.

As Rolling Stone reports, “it’s all wah-wah peddle and wordless harmonies,” but with some time and a good imagination, any fan could offer their own edge. Let’s see who wins, maybe you?
