In a recent interview with The Sun (via NME), Jason Pierce explained that that his relationship with Peter Kember, who he co-founded the band with in 1982, has not improved since their split in 1992. As a result, he has no interest in reforming Spaceman 3 at this time.
“The split was so acrimonious and my view of him hasn’t changed,” Pierce explained, adding: “No, I’ve not mellowed about him.”
Pierce went on to reveal that the duo had been offered an opportunity to play at next year’s All Tomorrow’s Parties. Instead, he’ll continue to focus attention on his current project, Spiritualized, and a BRAND NEW STUDIO ALBUM. “We’re recording at the moment. I want to say it will be out next year but I don’t know yet. But it sounds great, really great.” No complaining there.
