Artist Saam Farahmand will construct a display that will project the album and various light from three “visual units,” which are meant to represent the three remaining band members.
“Music videos are a 2D visual interpretation of a song,” Farahmand said. “We are interested in creating spaces that exist as a 3D physical interpretation of a song or an album, and that is what we have created for the album.”
Farahmand also added that the display is meant not to be an ordinary work of art but instead a new way of experiencing music.
“It shares sensibilities with art installations but it should not be considered in this context – it is in essence a physical music video, a looping shrine to the album that you cannot compress, send or turn off,” Farahmand said.
The display will be featured at London’s The Vinyl Factory from January 8th-12th. Click here for more info. And don’t forget to check out the band on tour until late April.
