You might not recognize the name The Yummy Fur, but surely you’ve heard of its members. During its eight year existence from 1992-1999, the U.K. based outfit featured now 1990s frontman John [Jackie] McKeown as well as Franz Ferdinand drummer Paul Thompson and singer Alex Kapranos.

Anyhow, as it now turns out, The Yummy Fur will reunite early next year for a number of one-off concerts across Scotland, England, and the U.S. The band, which will consist of McKeown, Thompson, and guitarist Brian McDougal, will begin its travels on January 7th in Glasgow, its first proper concert since 1999. According to NME, The Yummuy Fur is touring in celebration of the 15th anniversary of its label, Guided Missile. Maybe we can get Mogwai along for the ride? A new compilation album is also said to be forthcoming.
