Update: JELLY NYC Pool Parties to return next summer

Last month, we reported that Jelly NYC, the annual Brooklyn based summer concert series, was in danger of ending forever. If you remember, the New York State Parks Department and the Open Space Alliance had said the East River State Park, which was the 2009 home of Jelly, may not be available to them in 2010.

But worry no more, New York! According to The Brooklyn Paper, the Parks Department has since backtracked from its previous statements.

“There’s still some paperwork, but as far as state parks is concerned, there will be concerts,” said Rachel Gordon, the regional director for state parks.

I guess we can thank Senator Schumer

And just to make this news even better, NYC founder Alexander Kane promises big things in 2010.

“It’s good to know everything’s right on track,” Kane said. “We’re going to go pretty big this year for our fifth anniversary.

“It’ll be our coolest year yet,” he said.
