The Dave Matthews Band has a history of mapping out rather extensive Summer tours featuring a rather exhaustive amount of opening acts. So, it come as little surprise that Mr. Matthews & Co. recently unveiled 2010 Summer itinerary includes five months worth of tour dates and 12 different openers.
The band’s travels, which come in support of the recently released Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King, will begin on May 28th in Hartford, CT. Highlights that follow include a two-night stint at New York’s Citi Field and three nights at Gorge Amptheatre, a venue which the band has grown quite fond of over the years.
But perhaps the biggest highlight will come in the form of a headlining appearance at this year’s Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, TN. The band is expected to close out the festival on Sunday, according to multiple sources.
Among the DMB’s set to tour throughout the extensive endeavor include Ben Harper and Relentless7, Gov’t Mule, Raphael Saadiq, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, Brett Dennen, Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears, and Zac Brown Band. Find the band’s entire schedule (w/ openers) below.
An online ticket request period begins this Thursday, January 28th, and continues through Monday, February 8th, at the Warehouse. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on February 26th via Ticketmaster.com.

you guys clearly dont know much about dave. Like for example his band was the top touring act last decade. My only concern about him playing is that there will be too many DMB fans buying up all the tickets. Should be an awesome show if he does play roo and im looking forward to seeing him at hulabalou as well
Just guessing, but DMB appearing at Mile High this year did get some ink in the Denver Post last week. Also consider who the promoter is (AEG Live / Chuck Morris) and his ties to DMB and String Cheese. Morris / Madison House / AEG Live were also the promoters for Rothbury; with that Festival on ice this summer, a lot of that direct may end up at Mile High and we could see some repeat performers from year one of MHMF. Bottom line, this festival will be the tits this summer! DMB is a huge draw for Denver. Look at the tour routing for DMB; 8/14/10 in Wichita and 8/17/10 Salt Lake City. And SCI is getting hype of a reunion tour this summer, and considering that they sold out 4 nights at Red Rocks with their goodbye shows a few summers ago, they are headliner material for sure. We will see…..
Hey EFunk, do you have any other info. you’d like to share about Mile High?
DMB will headline the third annual Mile High Music Festival this summer. MHMF will be pushed to Aug 14 -15, 2010. String Cheese will headline Saturday and DMB will headline Sunday.
I am going to go see them in East Troy
Rumor….they might play at Wrigley Field this summer….
No love for Colorado again this year??
after sitting staring at the tour dates for the past day or so, dumbfounded about the lack of chicago date, i have come to the conclusion that my lollapalooza theory is absolutely most definately WRONG! the band will take the scheduled 2 week break, and the lack of chicago date is probably what will mark DMB as the 25th anniversary headliner of FARM AID. being that farm aid originated in central illinois, I think we are going to see the return of the 1 day festival to the world/tweeter/first midwest bank ampitheather…
JUST a thought…
I guess Bonnaroo isn’t going to win any “Best Festival” awards this year.
DMB, doesnt frequent vegas on their tours, thats usually done during a spring tour…March 07, May 09
No chicago date very strange, and at first glance i thought it was a decent possibility that they were trying to get billed for lolla, but on second thought, the band usually does schedule a break in their tour for about 2 weeks usually its 1/2 way through, but it seems to be 2/3…
my guess is, they are being considered if other options fall through, and if not then, ill bet everything i own they add it later after the st. paul show
I’m surprised not to see Phoenix or Las Vegas on here.
Even though they played last year, Sasquatch has got to be happy they’re not getting Ben Harper again this year.
I don’t understand how DMB would be “contaminating” Bonnaroo and a lot of people think he’s too “mainstream” / “poppy” to play ‘Roo.
Dave headlined in ‘04 and DMB headlined in ‘05 (the old days when it was mostly a jam festival. They’re one of the “original” headliners (Widespread, Dead, Neil, Dave) and fit perfectly with Bonnaroo’s vibe, sound, and crowd.
yeah i didnt seem the band confirming roo granted im sure they will close sunday. Does that mean you have more lineup to leak
dmb is not by any circumstance playing lolla. u hear me
good band, too bad matthew’s voice sounds like a bag full of suck.
With no dates the first week of august and no IL dates, I smell a trip to Lollapalooza? He played ACL last year….
Looks like they’re playing Lollapalooza as well.
I might actually stay for a Sunday headliner at Roo for once. Wow
He doesn’t do all huge shows any more, sure he’ll still do Fenway once in a while and this year Citi field but over all he has toned down the size of venues he does over the last couple of years, thank god because seeing him at Giants Stadium just didn’t seem worth it some of the time.
He is playing Bethal That’s a tiny amphitheater and The Allmans played mountain Jam last year and Mountain Jam has increasing gotten bigger every year. Plus he has a house in the area and is friends with the curator.
They didn’t announce it yet,
but it seems to be locked for Bonnaroo
claiming to be the closing out day, on Sunday.
Isn’t Mt. Jam a small fest? To small for DMB?
No Illinois date? No dates the first weeks of August?
I’m pretty sure they didn’t announce their Bonnaroo appearance.
He is even Playing with Yonder then next night in Mass, Sunday at Mountain Jam is a lock!
Scratch that he;ll headline Sunday night!!!!
So he is playing the same days as his friend’s (Warren Haynes) festival only an hour away, I guarantee after Saratoga sells out that he is announced for Mountain Jam, which means he’ll even play early.
see you at hershey park and citi field
who is the opener for the symbol ^
