Billboard.com reports that the former Beatle is working with some older friends and some new faces. While there’s no official line up yet, “Starr did confirm that the Romantics’ Wally Palmar will be part of the troupe, while reports indicate that returnees Edgar Winter, Gary Wright, and musical director Mark Rivera will also be joined by Rick Derringer and Mr. Mister’s Richard Page.” What, no Steve Lukather, Ringo?
To bring you up to speed, Starr’s latest features a long-awaited collaboration with former bandmate Paul “Macca” McCartney, in addition to guest spots with Joe Walsh, Joss Stone, Ben Harper, Van Dyke Parks, Edgar Winter, Billy Squier, Gary Wright and Richard Marx. Quite the line up, huh? It’s a shame they can’t join him on the road — though who’s to say that won’t happen on tour, huh?
We’ll just have to see… and watch it on YouTube, most likely.
