The effort will feature guest appearance by a slew of today’s rap and pop superstars. Lil Wayne, Kayne West, Rick Ross, Chris Brown, Gucci Mane, Justin Timberlake, and Lady Gaga have all been confirmed as having a role on the record. That’s enough star power to make your head spin! But it’s a certain super producer who will likely have the biggest influence.
In a recent interview with Billboard, the rapper born Jayceon Terrell Taylor discussed how Pharrell Williams’ contributions evolved into him becoming an executive producer on the project. “We worked together one day, and that one day turned into 30 days, and those 30 days turned to 60, and then those 60 developed into a friendship.”
Dr. Dre, who is basically the reason for the album’s delay — The Game has been producing the long-awaited Detox in recent months — is said to have returned the favor and also has a hand on the album’s production.
“Dre and I have always been on the same team, I’ve just been too wild for him at times,” The Game said. “He’s older and legendary and he’s been through enough drama in his career and doesn’t have to jump into my drama. So, I understood that and why he pulled back.”
So far, several songs off the album have been leaked, including “Krazy”, the first street single. Check that, as well as the album artwork, below.
