Tinted Windows turn down the curtains…

In news that’s not surprising in the slightest, last year’s supergroup, Tinted Windows, have decided to call it a day. But before they go, the band — which sports members Taylor Hanson, James Iha, Adam Schlesinger, and Bun E. Carlos — wants to release one more single (“Back With You”) off of their titular debut, which surfaced early last year.

Hanson told Spinner that the band’s “toying” with the idea of recording in Japan, but insists that “[he's] probably saying too much.” He adds, “We’re not saying that we’re ending the chapter completely,” says Hanson. “But, definitely, absolutely, this single is probably going to be the last for a while in the US.”

Of course, never say never, but c’mon? In the meantime, Bun E. Carlos has some business to attend to in Austin, TX, leaving Hanson to return to his “roots”, Schlesinger to write more movie themes, and Iha to…

Oh, if Billy Corgan could only be so lucky.

I like Tinted WIndows, especially when they perform live and ACOUSTIC. I have seen simple acoustic performances of them online that are really awesome to listen to and you can really appreciate Taylor’s voice.

Here are some links of great live acoustic performances:

The idea of this band and their REASON for doing this is admirable personally. They don’t take the whole thing too seriously-they just want to have FUN and play when they can. They are all committed to their own ‘day jobs’ and they are just like friends who love a certain genre-power pop- and want to have fun performing that style. Iha described that they/their music are “not deep” and they are non-ironic. They just want simple lyrics, loud guitars and just fun. They said it is not “a pressure situation”–Go for it, Tinted Windows
