Watch: Trent Reznor and Peter Murphy cover Iggy Pop, The Normal, NIN
Since there hasn’t been any Nine Inch Nails
news in… oh, about a month, it comes as much relief to learn that NIN frontman has posted some new archived content. Uploaded to Nine Inch Nails’ Vimeo account late last week were four high-def videos of a 2006 Boston radio performance by Reznor and Peter Murphy
Backed by producer Atticus Ross and bassist Jeordie White (Marilyn Manson, A Perfect Circle), the videos feature the high-profile collaboration covering an assortment of tracks. As you’ll see below, the foursome choose to keep things simple, using only a bass, electric, and acoustic guitar, and a laptop (for all the percussion/various noises), as they cover Iggy Pop’s “Nightclubbing,” The Normal’s “Warm Leatherette,” Murphy’s “A Strange Kind of Love,” and Nine Inch Nails’ “Reptile.”
Sure, it’s not the new Reznor project fans are waiting for, but it’s still worth checking out.
