Green Day, Soundgarden, Lady Gaga for Lollapalooza 2010?

And so the Lollapalooza rumor season has begun: According to The Daily Swarm, “multiple industry sources” have confirmed that Green Day, the recently reunited Soundgarden, and Lady Gaga will be three of the six headliners scheduled to descend on Chicago’s Grand Park from August 6-8. More rumors here.

Green Day should have stopped making music after 1994Those are an improvement! I suppose that means the strokes will have to get out of rehab by august. I’m excited, but at the same time Julian casablancas is a pretty sweet solo act. Alt nation claims hes already working on solo album #2.
i think them crooked vultures almost have to be a gimmee- since they officially came out at lolla last year in that surprise after party.
I’m pretty disappointed I hope they STACK the other 3 headliners.. I was hoping for something like pearl jam, weezer, and Arcade Fire. Lady gaga has the hits throughout 09 to draw a crowd and supposedly has a crazy stage show.. but WTF w Green day??? they shouldn’t be a headliner. Last year was the tour of the 90’s at all the festivals.
I’m praying for a good support cast of at least a couple of these- Julian casablancas, them crooked vultures, cold war kids (new album), spoon (new album), beastie boys, the features, the big pink, gaslight anthem(new album summer), cage the elephant, the XX, as tall as lions, Metric, spinnerette, Band of skulls, Florence and the machine, mutemath, paolo nutini?, maybe david Guetta spinning up Perry’s stage- he’s hot right now.
lady gaga played the citi stage roffman… NOT the same thing as billing likely #2 or #3
i think it would be great to have lady gaga headline and i’m sure her show will be much more fun than a soundgarden reunion.
euro festivals always have pop and rock and electronic acts mixed together.
Gaga and The Garden? Now just add Massive Attack and I will be a happy camper!

theyre not fucking radiohead, rage, kanye, wilco, nin, or raconteurs.
this is supposed to be an alt rock festival with lots of indie bands, and bands native to chicago too. lady gag is a fucking joke and everything that lollapalooza never has been. maybe this year i wont go anymore and ill end up driving out to sasquatch or APW or anything else that still is about the music.

2 of the biggest acts in the world, and a highly anticipated reunion… plus 3 MORE STILL NOT ANNOUNCED. Only on an internet comment section will you ever find so much hating.
hope lady gaga is true, i would love to be tripping while watching her show. the rest i could care less about, but that’s not going to stop me from going. can’t wait to see what’s on the undercard.
I don’t think Soundgarden is bad, they are doing a reunion so its kind of fresh and basically expected and a home run. Greenday is played out and I don’t even know what the hell is a lady gaga

Lolla is the top 40 of festivals. I went once, and that was more than enough. Green Day? Lady GOO GOO? Soundgrading? Bring on Kanye!!!
I am making my firt trip to lolla this year, and I am way more pissed about Green Day than Lady GaGa. I bet GaGa at least puts on an entertaining show. Green Day? I wouldn’t even give that the time of day. Mabey if they only played songs from Dookie!

Don’t think flaming lips going to headline. They will be there but I see em as more of a pre headliner. I see the Beastie Boys return as a headliner which leaves 2 more open spots. Wonder if we going to get a suprise as one of the spots like a System of a down reunion.

Looks like Lolla is headed down the same path Bonnaroo is this year. That is, a lackluster lineup with bullshit headliners

I’m not a huge Green Day fan, but they’re a good draw. Lady GaGa piques my interest, even as a casual fan, and I’d travel lengths to see Soundgarden. Not a bad start!
Three artists I wouldn’t be STOKED about but would gladly go see if they aren’t playing against someone I care about.
What’s with Lolla the last couple of years? I’m happy to see Soundgarden there, but hopefully the other 3 headliners can balance this out. I’m still hoping for Arcade Fire, The Strokes, and Flaming Lips.

I don’t know what tim is talking about…depeche mode, tool and deadmau5 were excellent headliners last year
I don’t love any of these acts, but prefer them over an other headliner last year.
Yuck. Happy I’m not going this year. Crowds alone made that decision easy for me after this past year.
Lollapalooza has officially lost it’s luster. For me anyways.
