Foals finish Total Life Forever, withdraw from social networking sites

Here’s the good news: English indie band Foals has recently finished its new album, Total Life Forever, expected to be released on May 10th. It will be the group’s first project since 2008′s Antidotes.

The new material was recorded in Gothenburg in the Svenska Grammofon Studio. According to a MySpace post by Edwin Congreave, the sound’s like “sort of like an inside-out chicken in glorious technicolour, but a bit more vegetarian and a bit less funk.” Good luck figuring out what means.

Now the bad news… if you’re a MySpace fiend: The album announcement was made on the band’s MySpace, which may find itself in disuse soon if vocalist/guitarist Yannis Philippakis has anything to do about it. Foals is revamping their website, with Philippakis saying “This will be our new HQ as we slowly withdraw from the world of social networking. Go check it out, it’ll be fully operational over the next few weeks.”

Though no track names or artwork has been revealed yet, Philippakis mentioned that “something pretty, pretty, pretty good will be happening on the airwaves this coming Monday.”

Stay tuned, folks.
