Jack Johnson announces new album, festival appearances galore!

Love him or hate him, Jack Johnson remains a viable force in music. This is no more evident than one look at the Hawaiian singer/songwriter’s summer plans, which, as we recently learned, includes his first world tour in two years and series of high profile festival appearances. The Glastonbury Music Festival included.

All this will be in support of his yet-to-be-titled fifth studio album, which will be released worldwide the week of May 31st and will be preceded by a single in May. Details remain minimal, as Johnson is still said to be at work on the effort at his Mango Tree Studio.

Johnson has also announced the return of his Honolulu based music festival, the Kokua Festival. This year’s festivities, which will take place from April 23-24 at the Waikiki Shell, will see Johnson joined by Ziggy Marley, Jake Shimabukuro, Anuhea, and Taj Mahal.
