According to TwentyFourBit, it’s not so much arts and crafts as it is decorating and designing items for Artists For Peace and Justice, a non-profit that is getting ready to begin significant relief efforts in the country. So far, as a part of the “Crafts For A Cause” project, Conor Oberst has decorated a Fender Strat, while Vampire Weekend is designing a gym bag, and The Strokes even made time for making a tote. And if you’ve ever wondered what a Cedric Bixler-Zavala designed skateboard looks like, here’s your chance. The project, organized by Little Joy’s Binki Shapiro, also promises items from M. Ward, Le Tigre, Spike Jonze, Sia, The Black Keys, and more.
For more details on the project and a list of more artists doing their part, follow the project on Tumblr and Twitter. Here’s hoping someone does a gnarly hand turkey.
