Thom Yorke lends musical hand for NYC Fashion Week

It’s been this way for a while, but Radiohead’s Thom Yorke continues to be a man of many surprises. This is no more exemplified then by this week’s news that the blogosphere’s most exhilarating figure possibly chose to shun Peter Gabriel in favor of a solo “something” and New York Fashion Week.

Yep, as the Style File Blog notes (via atease), Yorke recently lent his musical skills — in this case, his ability to make a playlist — for design company Rag & Bone and its recent events at NYC’s Fashion Week. In fact, it took some five months for designer Marcus Wainwright and the Radiohead frontman to settle on the tracks for the shows, which Yorke then mixed and put together. “A lot of bass this season. At the men’s show, we blew out a speaker,” Wainwright explained.

The atease kids dug up a few videos from the shows in which you can kind of make out Yorke’s work (remember… there’s a lot of bass!), including one here and one here.
