Andy Bell

Andy Bell, singer of the English synthpop duo Erasure, has a sophomore solo album in the cards (via Slicing Up Eyeballs). Non-Stop, which comes out May 25th on Mute Records, follows Bell’s 2005 debut Electric Blue and is co-written and co-produced by Pascal Gabriel (Debbie Harry, Little Boots, Kylie Minogue).

With respect to Mr. Gabriel, however, the star collab here is on closing track “Honey if You Love Him”. The duet was written by none other than Jane’s Addiction/Porno for Pyros frontman Perry Farrell, who lends his voice as well. According to the label, Farrell is “a huge fan of Andy’s voice” and was the one who “suggested the alliance.” This number will certainly be something to watch out for.

Two of the new album’s tracks, “Running Out” and “Will You Be There?”, were previous singles released under Bell’s alter-ego Mimó. “Call on Me” is the album’s first new single, out May 10th.

In other Bell news, the man is hard at work on another new album, namely his band’s 14th full-length, and Erasure is planning a 25th-anniversary tour for late 2010 (continuing the band’s bid to make its fans feel old). Lady Gaga better not plan any fall shows, because this tour will be borrowing back a large amount of her fanbase for awhile.
