Between U.K. warm-up shows, a forthcoming Coachella appearance, and plagiarism charges, Gorillaz has been a busy band of late (or as busy as a virtual, non-real band can be.) Yet, the Damon Albarn-led project is still plotting more upcoming endeavors, which, as we learned today, includes an appearance at this year’s Denmark based Roskilde Music Festival and plans for a “major” U.K. tour this September.

Gorillaz join a previously announced Roskilde lineup that includes Pavement, Them Crooked Vultures, Muse, Motorhead, Jack Johnson, and NOFX. According to the festival, the band’s performance will mark one out of only two festival concerts this year (the other of course being the aforementioned Coachella). Roskilde is scheduled to take place from July 1-4 in Roskilde, Denmark.

The Roskilde performance will also serve as a precursor to what will be a busy September for the band. According to the fansite Gorillaz-Unofficial, Albarn announced during a warm-up show in Portsmouth last night that the band would be doing a proper full U.K. tour this September. And while exact details have yet to be released, the band has already announced two new live performances at London’s Roundhouse on April 29th and 30th. What’s more, a Los Angeles rehearsal show, scheduled to take place prior to its Coachella performance, is expected to be announced shortly as well. And of course, there are still rumors of a yet-to-be-announced world tour. (A New York City date is already strongly rumored) Update: Rumored New York show is actually just a radio promotion for Coachella.

As for who will be providing the sounds and styles for all these dates? In addition to the previously announced mini-reunion of The Clash’s Mick Jones and Paul Simonon, Albarn has rounded up Jesse Hackett (keyboards), Mike Smith (keyboards), Cass Browne (drums), Gabriel Wallace (drums), and Geoff Wotton (guitar) to make up the live band.
