We’ve heard it live, but if you’re “in the know” then you’ve probably heard a clean studio cut of MGMT‘s titular album track, “Congratulations”. Unlike last week’s debacle, the song is pretty straight-forward, sounding like an odd mix between the Velvet Underground and The Flaming Lips. It’s dreamy, but if you’re not expecting that by now, you really are in for a bad, bad trip come April 13th.

Take it from someone who’s heard the album, this might be the strongest track out of the bunch. It’s nothing particularly noteworthy, but it’s somewhat catchy. Not as mind gripping as any number of tunes off 2007′s Oracular Spectacular, but really, did you expect another “Kids” or even something remotely as good as “Time to Pretend”? If you did, then you’re in for one hell of a disappointment. In fact, you might even hate the band. That might sound harsh, but… just wait.
