Since hitting No. 1 on U.S. dance charts in 1993 with “Move”, Moby has created music with the ability to penetrate diverse forms of pop culture. Singles from 1999′s Play continue to appear in commercials and movies, he collaborated with DJ Oscar the Pink on all three tracks of The Bioshock EP, and he maintains his dedication to a lengthy list of  charitable organizations.

Moby has also gathered an ever-increasing list supporters, peers, and future electronic successors as his sound has transformed from techno to the punk-influenced Animal Rights to the more mournful/melodic stylings of his newest release Wait for Me.

Moby is taking full advantage of his Rolodex for his newest batch of remixes. Moby will once again remix Wait for Me, but this time he has enlisted some of the biggest names in dance music, including Tiesto, Maps, Carl Cox, and Yousef.  On May 4th, Moby will re-release the single “Wait for Me”, but will include b-side “Gone To Sleep”, a brand new, previously unreleased track, plus an acoustic version of previous single “One Time We Lived”, and a hefty disc-2 Remix Bundle.  The detailed tracklisting follows below.

Even better, Moby will be releasing Wait for Me. Remixes! two weeks later on May 18. Also released on two discs, CD1 contains 12 re-mixed Wait for Me tracks while CD2 is an exclusive Mody DJ Mix. With Moby’s work generally falling on the ‘ambient’ side of electronic-dance music, both Carl Cox and Tiesto hint at tougher, darker mixes.

For all you aspiring music video directors, Moby has launched a video competition on mobygratis.com where filmmakers have the chance to make an alternative video “Wait for Me”. The video will accompany the work by  Jessica Dimmock, who has been commissioned to release a video for the track.
