Record Club #4 hears Mr. Beck Hansen team up with St. Vincent’s Annie Clark, California rockers Liars, and legendary Brazilian psych band Os Mutantes for a reinterpretation of INXS’ 1987 album Kick. According to Beck, “the record was chosen by fellow Aussie, Angus [Andrew] from the Liars. It was recorded in a little over 12 hours on March 3rd, 2010. It was an intense, hilarious, daunting and completely fun undertaking.”

Moments ago, the high-profile collection debuted the first offering from said undertaking, this being Kick‘s pulsating first track, “Guns In The Sky”. As you’ll see via the video below, Andrew handles lead vocal duties, while Os Mutantes’ Sérgio Dias and Ms. Clark provide a heavy dose of guitar. Beck, as usual, fills in the remaining pieces, serving as backing vocalist, guitarist, and keyboardist. As for the actual end result? Basically, it’s pretty damn awesome.
