As previously reported, Blur used today, aka Record Store Day, to unveil “Fool’s Day”, its first new single in over seven years. But because a.) the limited edition, U.K only 7″ was limited to just 1,000 copies and b.) not everyone lives in England, the fine British gentlemen have the good senses of making the song available for free download via its website.

According to Blur’s manager Chris Morrison, the band chose to make “Fool’s Day” available as a free, legal download to ensure the song’s quality. “To avoid fans having to illegally obtain an inferior copy of this track from pirate sites – we have made it freely available through the band’s website,” he explained.

So, head here to pick it up. We also included a soon-to-be-deleted YouTube stream below. As you’ll hear, the song mixes the early influences of 90s Brit pop with the recent sounds of frontman Damon Albarn’s other notable project, Gorillaz.
