The Ontario electric duo known as Crystal Castles caught the blogosphere by storm following the release of its self-titled debut in 2008. They also subsequently turned into indie’s most controversial band following a few rather high-profile meltdowns.

Now, in 2010, the Castles will look again to focus on the music. On June 8th, the band will release its highly anticipated sophomore studio album and guess what? Like its predecessor, it will also be titled Crystal Castles. Confusing? Yes. Produced by Ethan Kath and recorded everywhere from church in Iceland and a garage behind an abandoned convenience store in Detroit, Crystal Castles II will feature 14 tracks. It’s preceded by the track “Doe Deer”, which will be released as a limited, 500-run 12″ on Record Store Day. The first official single wll be “Celestica”.
