There are many definitions and classifications for an “independent” musician. The one most people seem to agree upon is if the artist or band is signed to an independent record label then that artist or band can be called an “indie.” Now, while it may seem far-fetched, using that logic, we can now call Paul McCartney in an indie musician. Well, sort of.

You see, as ABC News reports (via TFB), the former Beatle recently obtained the rights to many of his post Beatles solo albums and plans to reissue them through independent label Concord Music Group. Concord said the first reissue, the chart-topping 1973 Wings album Band on the Run, would come out in August with bonus material.

In the meantime, Macca has a few more tour dates scheduled for this summer, including appearances at two UK music festivals. We’re still waiting for some more U.S. dates, too. Please.
