The Born Ruffians hit the road in support of new album

Canadian steak sandwich connoisseurs, Born Ruffians, are hitting the road this summer. After a May trip through Europe, our neighbors to the north will take a hike and play 20 dates during their month long North American tour, which includes just ten U.S. stops.

The group’s second full-length, Say It, is being released by Warp Records on June 1st. (You can preview the first single, “What to Say”, here). As our own Chris Coplan previously reported, the record is a reaction to stress the band encountered after over touring in 2008.

Frontman Luke Lalonde, who sings “Jamelia” on Caribou’s new record, has said that with Say It the band intended to create a clean, pop-music friendly record.

In January 2009 Lalonde also formed a group with Graham Wright (Tokyo Police Club), Dean Marino (Ex-po), Will Currie (Will Currie & The Country French), and Jason Sadlowski (Jay Sad). They recorded a five-song EP called Novels, which they are encouraging fans to download, burn, and hide in secret stash spots all over the globe.

If you haven’t found one yet, then maybe one will be laying on the street in one of these towns:  (Chris Coplan is still willing to give you $10 if you find one in a weird spot.)
