As far as some people are concerned, Chris Rock‘s greatest contribution to comedy is “Women be shopping” and maybe CB4. Other than that, its been some overwrought satire, “No Sex In The Champagne Room”, and making the zebra that much less desirable. But to prove he’s still got something in him, Rock recently ensured that his spoof of Andre 3000′s/Outkast’s “Hey Ya”, a winner entitled “Crackers”, made it onto YouTube. Yes, that should help promote Death At A Funeral (by the way, did you know it’s a shitty remake?) Watch it below and you too will see the video that was sat on since 2004 probably should’ve remained that way.

As per why he chose this hit to dismember, Rock told VH1 at the time, “The song ‘Hey Ya!’ just seems so happy, so any depressing lyric with that same melody seemed funny to me.” Funny to him is right. Rock spends four minutes talking about race relations in the country, the beatings and brutality toward the African American community, and the sheer ignorance of white people, er, crackers. And we have no problem with good social commentary, so long as it’s well-written and inherently funny, which Rock’s version is neither. Plus, you don’t spoof Andre 3000. He’s simply too cool for any of that tomfoolery.

Check the video out for yourself below. At least it’s not a sequel to I Think I Love My Wife.
