As we told you about a week ago, Wolf Parade is gearing up for the release of a brand new studio album this June. Like most bands these days, the Canadian natives will look to support the release with a series of live performance.

This week, the band will engage in a series of warm-up dates in their native country before spending much of May traveling Europe. After that, it’s back to North America where Wolf Parade will embark on what will be its first extensive North American tour in over two years. Set to begin on July 8th in Montreal, the trek spans through the end of the month and is highlighted by a July 17th appearance at this year’s Pitchfork Music Festival. Japanese band The Moools will serve as openers.

Wolf Parade’s yet-to-be-titled third LP is reportedly due to be released on June 29th via Sub Pop. We’ll share more info (including whether it really will be a two-disc set) once we get it. Update: Per Pitchfork, the album is titled Expo 86 and, according to the band’s Dan Boeckner, it is “more focused” than 2008′s At Mount Zoomer.
