Late Night Lobotomy (Week of 5/17)

Last week was incredible. Stones week exceeded expectations with guest appearances galore — even by The Stones themselves! What’s more, Sufjan showed up to play with The National, and Jonsi finished his U.S. solo tour on national television. Tough to one-up all around. But with a new week comes a new hope. Reflection Eternal (Talib Kweli and DJ Hi-Tek) will be doing a number with Estelle that may come close to one-upmanship. Others include a rare chance to see Massive Attack televised, and B.o.B. who seems to be on top of the world as well as the Billboard 200 at the moment.

If you were looking for a week of late night performances to become familiar with this summer’s festival circuit bands, you’re in luck (but you’re kind of an idiot for relying on late night to make all your decisions, no offense). Performances by Band of Horses, She & Him, Damian Marley & Nas, and Vampire Weekend will all be televised this week for your late night viewing pleasure. Also Sarah McLachlan, Slayer, and Adam Lambert, if those better fit you. As always, late night’s got a little something for everybody this week. Here’s to hoping Sufjan shows up again during any one of the sets anywhere with anyone.
