None other than former band-mate David Crosby is taking point as interim publicist/dear friend, speaking of the record in a recent interview with Rolling Stone. “Neil told me last week that he was having a great time talking music with [Lanois] and just relating to him.” Crosby told Young, “‘If you want a harmony, I’m volunteering.’ He said, ‘You know, if I need one you’ll be the first guy I call.’” If you listen closely, ears to the wind, you can hear Stills and Nash pouting somewhere.
Little else is known about the forthcoming album, but Crosby says, “I suspect this will be a very heartfelt record. I expect it will be a very special record.” Suspicions and expectations noted and echoed.
