The Roots’ forthcoming, Jim James-featuring, Joanna Newsom-sampling studio album has a couple of new details. Firstly, after nearly a year worth of delays, the band’s ninth LP is now set for release on June 22nd (via Def Jam). And this time around we’re thinking that might be the actual release date, as evident by the fact the band has also unveiled the album artwork (which you can see to your right). Plus, ?uestlove, aka The Root’s illustrious drummer, tweeted it, and we all know that once it’s on Twitter, it’s official.
