Upon reuniting last April, Godspeed You! Black Emperor promised it would play nine “American towns” as well a handful of British and European shows, in addition to curating and performing at ATP’s Nightmare Before Christmas 2010. Today, the Canadian post-rock outfit lived up to one part of this promise, unveiling plans for a four date UK tour to follow the aforementioned Nightmare Before Xmas festival.

The dates, which mark the band’s first headlining performances in a decade, will take place between December 7th and 13th and include stops in Manchester, Glasgow, Bristol, and London. Tickets are now available via seetickets.com. Support for the shows has not yet been announced.

As for those nine American towns? No dates have been unveiled yet, but the Godspeed You! Black Emperor’s booker, The Windish Agency, has previously listed the band’s availability as January 2011. So you might want to keep that month clear.
