Appropriately enough, Magic Kids’ debut not only take its name from the bands hometown, but was also recorded there with producer Doug Easley. The end result is said to be inspired by the rich musical history of Memphis — notice a theme going on here? — as well as “‘late 80s Britpop, the Del-Phonics’ heartbreaking harmonies, ELO’s grandeur, and Belle & Sebastian’s intimacy,” all of which give way to a sound described by True Panther as “classic, beautiful, and eternal pop music.”
Here for yourself by checking out the album’s first single, “Summer”, below. If you like it, it might be in your wallet’s best interest to take advantage of True Panther’s current 10% off offer. The band’s aforementioned tour dates also follow.
