Mt. St. Helens Vietnam Band sure move quickly. Even though its self-titled debut came just out last year, the Seattle outfit is already prepping its sophomore release. Where The Messengers Meet will drop on August 3rd (2nd in the U.K.), through Dead Oceans.

Recorded over the course of eight months in the band’s hometown, the album promises to expand on the sound created for last year’s debut. The group is looking to collect powerful compositions into one cohesive whole, held together with lush production and a haunting atmosphere. Thematically, fans can expect a focus on contrasts, specifically between gentle, light elements and their dark counterparts. With the help of engineer/co-producer Jonathan Warren, the band has also moved towards a grander sound and epic melodies larger than those found on their first record.
