Set to run from September 9-11, the festival will feature two components: Sonar by Day events go down at the Chicago Cultural Center (CCC) and the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs’ headquarters. For those night owls, there’ll also be Sonar by Night shows. The line-up will be announced in July and, per Time Out Chicago, organizers promise “some important names on the current landscape with other less mainstream and more experimental offerings.”
According to Billboard, the promoters plan on make the Chicago fest a regular occurrence. And to keep things professional, the event will be promoted by Bonaroo’s AC Entertainment in a partnership with Institut Ramon Llull.
Stay tuned for more news when the festival’s line-up gets announced in July. As for Sonar proper, it takes place June 17th-19th and features, Caribou, LCD Soundsystem, Hot Chip, Chemical Brothers, and more.
