As predicted, this is a fantastic week for late night. Broken Social Scene got semi-political on Fallon, Gaslight Anthem last night (stay tuned for video), and Deer Tick surely increased their fan base with their network television debut on Letterman (via Prefix).

Transported whence Petty, Young and Van Morrison cultivated their song craft, Deer Tick eased into ”Baltimore Blues No. 1″, and found their stride. As we noticed in our review of The Black Dirt Sessions, this Providence, RI crew have arrived in peak shape with John McCauley owning some serious swagger as a front man. From the opening riff to that closing drum fill, Deer Tick prove on par with their roots rock contemporaries as they fire off this bluesy bullseye. Check out the vid below.
