Consequence of Sound presents a recap of everything that happened 4th of July Weekend 2010

Why, hello there! We hope you had a relaxing last three days, complete with enough vegan hot dogs, PBR’s, and illegal fireworks for even the largest red, white, and blue appetite. But while you were enjoying the 4th of July Weekend, we found ourselves still posting, probably because a.) the rest of the world isn’t too into the idea of celebrating America’s Independence, b.) despite the aforementioned celebration of America’s independence, some Americans — like President Obama and The Killers — were still making headlines, and c.)  we really don’t know what the world “relax” means. So, without further adieu, may we now present you with a recap of all that went down while you were gone.

The Strokes pushed back the release of their next studio album… again.

The Killers were invited to play a 4th of July concert at the White House.

Liz Phair unexpected dropped her first new studio album in five years as a digitial download.

Matador at 21 detailed ticket and on sale information.

Van Halen is nearly complete with new, David Lee Roth-featuring studio album.

The Glitch Mob are going on a world tour.

Against Me! played to a confused Chicago.

Minneapolis’ fireworks came in the form of Craig Finn and The Hold Steady.

– CoS premiered a brand new video for Everything Everything‘s kick ass track “Schoolin'”.
