Flashback Alert. Pompano Beach-based emo pioneers Further Seems Forever have announced what Creative Loafing Tampa is calling a “reunion activity” featuring all of the band’s original members — including vocalist (and Dashboard Confessional frontman) Chris Carrabba. The bio on the band’s new Twitter page states that the “original lineup is set for a return in Spring 2011,” and Carrabba has also posted a Twitter message confirming that he has been practicing with the band. To tease fans even more, the band posted a 30-second clip of Carrabba practicing the title track from its 2001 debut LP, The Moon Is Down, on its official website.
Since releasing that album, which many critics cited as one of that year’s best records, the band has shed almost all of its members. They’ve gone through two vocalists in two albums (Jason Gleason on 2003’s How To Start a Fire and Jon Bunch on 2004’s Hide Nothing), and guitarist Josh Colbert is the only original member left in the band’s most recent lineup. Official dates haven’t been announced, but you can check out the new video below. And don’t worry. Dashboard Confessional isn’t going anywhere.
