In case you can’t read roman numerals, we’ve been doing the Friday Mixtape for 118 weeks now. However, this edition marks the first time we’ve changed the feature’s formula. Sure, the week’s mix of the best new singles, remixes, and mp3s from up-and-comers remains — in fact, this week is particularly kick ass! But now included is a special section dedicated specifically to the week’s best new covers, which is brought to you specifically by the wonderful Cover Me.

You may or may not know that CoS News Writer Ray Padgett also operates the aforementioned Cover Me. Over the last year, we’ve watch as his blog has grown into the premiere source for all things, well, covers. I thought it’d only be appropriate to ask Ray to come on and share his favorite covers of the week and I’m happy to announce he graciously accepted.
