Looking at Elvis Costello‘s discography is a daunting experience. His studio albums alone are plentiful enough to actually require scrolling down to view them all. But despite the breadth of his catalog, the dozens of reissues of those albums, the compilations, the box sets, the tribute albums, and the occasional duet with Burt Bacharach, Costello has just one platinum album to his credit, My Aim Is True,  his first album. But the faithful still anticipate every release with excitement and he has delivered for them consistently for more than 30 years.

So, 2010 will be no different and will see a new Costello album set for release on October 5th. Titled National Ransom and recorded early in 2010 in Nashville, this record will feature the legendary songwriter with production from T-Bone Burnett, the master of classy dinner music and public-visibility comebacks. Costello has always been classy and needs no comeback, so it will probably just be really good.
