So, 2010 will be no different and will see a new Costello album set for release on October 5th. Titled National Ransom and recorded early in 2010 in Nashville, this record will feature the legendary songwriter with production from T-Bone Burnett, the master of classy dinner music and public-visibility comebacks. Costello has always been classy and needs no comeback, so it will probably just be really good.
We’ll have more information as it becomes available, hopefully including tour dates beyond his appearance at the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival. If you can’t wait until October, check out the live version of “Jimmy Standing In The Rain”, one of the new album’s anticipasted songs, at Direct Current Music as recorded live on A Prairie Home Companion.
