Joaquin Phoenix’s fall-from-grace “documentary” I’m Still Here (which – fun fact – shares its title with a Holocaust docu-drama in which Phoenix appeared) has been a long time coming. It saw Phoenix go from beloved film star to overweight, Unabomber look-alike in a two-year quest to alienate his every last fan. The strange social experiment comes full circle September 10th, when the Casey Affleck-directed documentary premieres in theaters.

Now the unconventional film has an unconventional trailer. The movie seems to be a classic disgrace-to-redemption story, complete with church-pew salvation and lots of hugs. Certain scenes bring to mind Walk the Line and similar biopics. In fact, the end cleverly nods to that film’s opening scene (just change “Johnny! Johnny!” to “Joaquin! Joaquin!”).

It raises many questions and answers exactly zero. Why is Phoenix hanging with Diddy? What’s with all the mystical stuff about water drops? Most importantly, will Phoenix go around promoting the movie and give us more hilarious late-night appearances? Watch below to get all your questions not answered!
