The followup to 2009′s alt-country Changing Horses, Kweller said in an interview with The Oklahoma Daily that the new album, called Go Fly a Kite, would be “really electric — a lot of electric guitars and pianos and acoustic guitars and harmonies. It’s like a lot of electricity in the music. It’s upbeat, uptempo. But it deals with some darker stuff.” And by dark he means friends with crazy girlfriends. Also, it apparently will delve heavily into the ancient art of polka. As for a release date and other pertinent info, stay tuned for those in the near future.
As for the tour, Kweller first hits up the Land Down Under in October, before coming back to the States on November 6th in Dallas, TX. After that, it’s a string of shows throughout November, including stops in Ann Arbor, MI, Winooski, VT, and Brooklyn, NY, before the tour wraps up on December 4th in Baton Rouge, LA.
